Hello and welcome back to HallyuTones – always focused on sound, stage and substance.
Big Ocean are back! When we last spoke to the members, they had just released their second EP, ‘Underwater‘ and were preparing for their Europe and US tours. Since then, we have also seen the release of their sub-unit song ‘Bucket Hat‘ (which was also performed on tour), and the members have participated in numerous fashion and music events.
As the days get shorter, and the nights get colder, it becomes clear that Christmas is rapidly approaching. One of the best aspects of the Christmas season is the music, bringing warmth and joy during the festive period.
At the time of writing (22/11/25), Big Ocean is currently preparing to release their very first Christmas single, perfect for your winter playlists! Read on to find out more about their Christmas single, their upcoming concert, and a few exclusive reflections from the members!

Big Ocean Get ‘RED-DY SET GO! ‘For Their New Release:
Big Ocean, well-known for being the first deaf idol group, will be releasing their new Christmas single ‘RED-DY SET GO’, on November 23rd. As the name suggests, the song is heavily inspired by the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. In the spirit of the classic Christmas tale, the track centres around a core message: ‘what once felt like a flaw can become the light that leads the way’.
This message is central to the group’s identity. Big Ocean have been paving the way for representation in the global music scene, singing through sign language and redefining the art of performance. 2025 has been a successful year for the group, with the members being listed on the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia’ list, evidencing their international impact. Therefore, the new single is a natural progression of their identity, empowering listeners who have self-doubts to begin their journey of self-acceptance.

This new release stays true to the group’s signature style, while sprinkling in many festive elements. It is a rhythm-driver Christmas carol that is instantly catchy and suitably warm for the winter nights. The melody evokes the Christmas season, while the lyrics embrace symbolic language. The traditional Rudolph story of a ‘small deer’ who once hid away embracing its glow to fly without fear is as the centre of the track. Suitably, the rest of the lyrics embrace it’s confidence, with lines like ‘3! 2! 1! I’m all RED-DY to go‘ and ‘Hidin’ no more, this is my moment to blow‘.
Stay tuned to all major streaming platforms to listen to the new track, ‘RED-DY SET GO!’ when it drops tomorrow, November 23rd!
Big Ocean Return To Paris With ‘Heartsign’ Concert:
True to their reputation as a rising global group, Big Ocean will be bringing in the festive season with their year-end concert ‘HEARTSIGN: When Hands Sing, Hearts Answer’ on December 7th, 2025 at Bataclan, Paris. This is the group’s second visit to the iconic city after their sold-out concert in April of 2025.

At the ‘HEARTSIGN’ concert, fans can expect performances that go beyond sound. The concert focuses on the beauty of communication beyond hearing – a ‘sign’ of connection between hand and heart. The group’s performances blend vocals with movement, emotion, and sign language to allow fans to experience their music in many ways.
This concert will also mark the first live performance of the new Christmas single ‘RED-DY SET GO’ , allowing fans to experience the story in a new way and feel empowered by the inspiring lyrics. For those who may feel lonely or are struggling, this song will resonate and bring them warmth to work through these hard times.
The venue choice is suitably appropriate for this theme. The historic Bataclan venue has become a symbol of healing, resilience and rebirth. The ‘HEARTSIGN’ concert welcomes the audience in to a space where music unites us all even within silence. The concert will last for 90 minutes, with official new song live stage debuts, immersive and interactive stages, and the group’s signature emotion-led performances.
For any excited fans, the concert will take place on December 7th, 2025, at 5pm local time. Dress code is ‘Christmas Ornament’ themed to tie in with the Christmas spirit! Tickets are available for purchase at the Bataclan website.

Exclusive Interview:
Q1. This is one of Big Ocean’s first holiday releases! How does it feel to celebrate this milestone with Pado?
PJ: Honestly, it still feels a little unreal. We’ve never had a Christmas song before, so recording “RED-DY SET GO” felt like opening a new chapter. When we heard the final mix, all three of us just looked at each other and smiled; no words needed. Sharing this season with Pado through our own music is probably the warmest feeling we’ve had all year.

Q2. Rudolph’s story shines a light on what it feels like to be different, while learning to accept yourself. What messages would you give to any listeners who may feel that they do not fit in with their peers?
Chanyeon: The thing that looks like a flaw today can become your biggest strength tomorrow. I spent years thinking my hearing was something I had to hide or fix completely before I could stand on stage. Turns out the opposite was true: the moment I stopped hiding it, people started listening closer. So if you feel out of place right now, just keep going. The same difference that makes you feel alone today will be the reason someone feels seen tomorrow.

Q3. The Christmas season reminds many people of the act of gift-giving. What would the members consider the greatest gift of being part of Big Ocean?
Jiseok: For me, it’s the fact that we get to turn our everyday experiences into something that helps other people feel less alone. Every time a Pado signs “thank you” or tells us our music gave them courage, that’s the best present we could ever receive. Nothing on a chart or in a trophy case comes close to that.

Q4. Big Ocean is nearing its second debut anniversary. What is something you have learned about yourselves since debut?
PJ: I learned that I’m a lot more resilient than I thought. There are still days when the stage feels overwhelming or the cues are hard to catch, but I’ve stopped seeing those moments as failures. They’re just part of the process now. Two years in, I trust myself (and the members) way more than I did on day one.

Q5. Is there a particular group or artist that you’ve met along the journey who shared some wisdom with you that has encouraged or inspired you?
Jiseok: Felix from Stray Kids. When we met backstage, he greeted us in ASL without any warning. Then he quietly said, “Keep doing what you’re doing; the world needs it.” It wasn’t a long speech, but it stuck with us. Every time we feel tired or doubt ourselves, we remember that moment and keep pushing. Simple words, big impact.
