YOUNHA is an artist who has truly done it all. Debuting in Japan in 2004, and Korea in 2006, she has found considerable success in the music scenes of both countries. She is well recognised as one of Korea’s most prominent vocalists, and is also notable for crossing genres within her songs. More recently, she also released a highly successful collaboration song with RM of BTS titled ‘Winter Flower’, which topped US iTunes charts.
YOUNHA is starting 2026 off with an exciting new release. Her latest digital single, ‘계절범죄 (Seasonal Crime)‘ is out now. This is a pre-release for her first remake album titled ‘SUB CHARACTER’, which will be released on March 9th, 2026.
As a remake album, the songs on the album will be remakes of songs by other artists. ‘계절범죄 (Seasonal Crime)‘ was originally released by Miiro featuring Saebit in 2023. The song even inspired a short story of the same name by Gaeun. The track tells a unique and interesting story. The lyrics for the song narrate the story of a man who sold his memories (or ‘seasons’ in the short story) to a mysterious stranger. The message of the story is that every moment and memory we go through in our lives is priceless. This pre-release single acts as a sneak peak into the style of her upcoming remake album.
The last few years have been very eventful for YOUNHA. September 2024 saw the release of her seventh full-length album, ‘GROWTH THEORY’ . Following the release of this album, she held an end-of-year concert of the same name across the cities of Seoul, Daegu, Incheon, and Busan in Korea.
In 2025, YOUNHA performed across the country in various university festivals and events. Since the start of 2026, she has been actively promoting through her latest concert series, ‘빛나는 겨울(Glistening Winter) ‘, which ran from January 9th to February 1st. All tickets for 12 shows sold out in minutes after sale tickets opened, proving the huge support from her fandom, Y.HOLICS.
Who is YOUNHA?
YOUNHA is a Korean solo singer-songwriter signed under C9 Entertainment. She made her debut in Japan on September 1, 2004, with the single “Yubikiri.” Her second Japanese single, “Houkiboshi,” was released in 2005 and was included on the soundtrack of the hit anime series Bleach. The track debuted on Japan’s Oricon daily chart at #18 and peaked at #12, giving the nickname of ‘Oricon Comet’ to the artist as she was the second Korean artist, after BoA, to break into the Oricon top 20.
Following her successful debut in Japan, on December 4, 2006, she debuted in Korea with the single album, Audition. In 2007, she followed this up with her first full-length Korean album with the title track “Password 486,” garnering huge attention and securing six music show wins and four Rookie of the Year awards. In 2023, YOUNHA won Song of the Year at the 20th Korean Music Awards with her hit song “빛나는 겨울(Glistening Winter) ”.
